LIBRARY

A library is the nerve centre of a school. Reaching out to all the forms of print media, the school library is adequately stocked with reference books, periodicals, journals, magazines & newspapers. The students are also encouraged to borrow books and periodicals from the library for the development of their reading habits.

The school library is enriched with suitable text books, reference books, books on Competitive Examinations, 26 periodicals, 10 newspapers & 19742 books covering all the disciplines of education.

COMPUTER

Keeping in view the increasing importance of Computers in our day to day chores, our Vidyalaya is maintaining 03 Computer Labs - 01 for Primary and 02 for Secondary section with 30 computers, scanners & printers.
The students have the facility of opting Informatics Practices as an elective subject at +2 level. Multimedia learning, INTERNET and E-mail facilities make Information Technology and on line communication easily accessible to our students.
The Vidyalaya is also having Broad-Band Connection which is being utilized to the maximum by the students in their educational queries.
Well qualified instructors have been appointed for imparting computer education to primary as well as secondary students. An I.P. teacher has also been appointed for teaching Informatics Practices at +2 level.

SMART SCHOOL - Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 has been identified to act as mother school for Computer literacy programme under KVS Smart School Scheme by the HRD Ministry. Ten Govt./ Private neighbouring schools are linked under this scheme and efficient instructors were engaged to train the students of classes VI to VIII under the scheme.

MATHS CORNER

Vidyalaya is having a well-maintained mathematical lab and mathematical corner where students learn mathematics while doing.

The Mathematical garden is decorated with different geometrical shapes like Rhombus, Parallelogram, Square, Rectangle, Triangle & Circle. The children visit the garden and understand the concepts practically.

Our Mathematical Lab is provided with different charts on different topics, models of plain & solid (two dimensional & three dimensional) figures & display of formulae with the help of Mathematical Games & Charts.

SCHOOL BAND

The School is having two bands:

FLUTE BAND - comprising of 50 students from Primary section. The students give performances by playing base-drum, side-drums, clappers and flutes in their bright coloured smart dresses prepared specially for them.

BAG-PIPER BAND - comprising of 16 students from Secondary section.

Both the bands gave their spellbound performance in the Opening Ceremony of KVS National Sports Meet-2005

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

1.	BOTANICAL GARDEN	Botanical Garden have been developed in this academic year 2005-06 in our Vidyalaya. Two gardens have been developed under this project: A Horticulture garden that has various trees yielding fruits and another is Herbal garden consisting plants with medicinal value.
2.	PLANT NURSERY	A new project of developing a plant nursery has also been initiated. The saplings and cuttings of various plants have been planted in a very designer manner. It is being beautified by landscaping.
3.	VERMICULTURE PLANT	Earthworms are said to be the best friends of farmers. We have constructed a new Vermiculture plant near the Plant Nursery. Its efficient enough to produce rich manure for the gardens and potted plants of our school.
4.	VOCABULARY	Everyday three words alongwith their meanings (one each in English, Hindi & Sanskrit) are written on the display board & next day in the assembly any student of any class can be asked the meaning of any of the three words. This project has improved the vocabulary of the students.
